Curry County Livestock Pavilion
Curry County | Clovis, NM
Formative worked with the County to integrate the new livestock pavilion footprint into a new flexible campus framework plan to include future building expansion, covered connections to adjacent facilities, campus stormwater management and pedestrian/vehicular circulation management.
The new pavilion houses livestock exhibits during the Annual County Fair. Portable stalls allow for a large open-plan and flexible-area throughout the rest of year.
The design of the new pavilion was a focused approach on durable and sustainable strategies including CMU on the lower wall to prevent damage from livestock, natural daylighting, robust passive and mechanical ventilation, galvanized restroom wall panels, and other durable finishes.
This project included site improvements to provide the fairgrounds with a new pedestrian mall acting as the heart of the campus filled with canopy shading, wayfinding, fixed seating, pedestrian walkways, food truck stations, and a renovated historical outdoor arena.
